Lost maps
« on: October 15, 2013, 11:31:50 am »
This is a continuation from the French forum.

It is the second time that the maps have disappeared after they have been successfully downloaded and have been working. There is clearly a problem and it looks to be some form of data corruption. The attempt to re-download the maps produced errors until the maps cache database was deleted. Why should the maps cache database become corrupt when displaying the maps with and possibly without gps active? I used this application every week in 2012 without problems but have had 2 major failures in 2013. What is causing the problems?

With regard to empty folders. On the SD card there is the geolives folders. Below that there are a lot of folders with numeric names all of which seem to be empty. There are some folders with non numeric names some of which are logically empty. There are also many files with numeric names in the geolives folder such as -18.o and -18.xml.

If the application empties a folder it should be deleted or are the map files being stored in the wrong place?

Hello.

There seems to be a data corruption problem in the folder of the application, we don't know the cause of this corruption (maybe a crash or a problem with your device).

Can you please stop the application, completely delete the "geolives" folder from your device and launch the application again? It should fix your problem.

Warning : You will lose all the trails you have not yet sent to the server, so please send the trails you need to backup to the server before doing this operation.

After that, you can download your maps and your trails again.

Sorry for any inconvenient caused.

Files with numeric names are files of recorded or downloaded trails.

Best regards.
